Reporting to the Manager, Technical Architecture, the ITS Architect is responsible for carrying out the operational aspects of Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries’ Enterprise Architecture (EA) program, as well as the execution of the EA governance processes, and maintaining all EA records and documentation. Each ITS Architect will generally be responsible for a particular domain (e.g., network, applications, information security, etc.) as well as focused on a Line of Business.
Create IT enterprise architecture strategies.
Maintain Enterprise Architecture documentation; including Framework and Process documentation, Conceptual Architecture, principles, technical standards, EA models and architecture patterns.
Establish Non-Functional/Technical/Solution requirements that support IT objectives and goals.
Lead a IT Solution Design Team for projects, and facilitate team meetings to collaboratively design a solution that meets business and technical requirements.
Participate in the development of EA standards and principles across the enterprise, and within EA domains (e.g. networks, applications, information security, management, etc.).
Research a range of technology options to serve identified business strategies.
Identify the most appropriate technology solutions for the organization’s business needs.
Stay current with industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies.
Develop and/or oversee the development of position statements on the use of technology solutions within Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries.
Participate in aligning enterprise architecture with the organization’s annual Strategic Plan and also with other technology departments (e.g., Corporate Security, Corporate Production).
Assist in creating and maintaining a list of strategies and priorities, based on business needs.
Assist in the development and maintenance of the Information Technology Services (ITS) five-year enterprise architecture strategic plan.
Participate in the development and evaluation of RFI and RFPs for strategic technology purchases.

Completion of a recognized degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related IT discipline.
A minimum of nine (9) years Information Technology related experience.
A minimum of five (5) years senior level domain experience with a focus on application development, integration, or architecture.
A combination of leading edge technology innovations combined with knowledge of MBLL’s operations in order to create practical solutions.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
The ability to work in a team environment.
A broad knowledge of technology (networking, applications, software development, databases, internet, etc.) and business analysis (requirements gathering, modelling, etc.).
Continuous upgrading/learning is required to remain current in information technology.
Lifelong learning, in developing innovative ways of acquiring and transferring knowledge in complex circumstances.

Bilingual (French/English) language skills.
Industry credentials in Architecture Frameworks.
